*blush* I have been neglecting my blog!

Egad!  I am ashamed.  I can only plead overload with overtime at work, writing as much as I am capable, and packing/cleaning in preparation to move back across the country.  In all honesty, I am also a wee bit depressed about leaving my beloved Seattle.  In the short time I have lived in Washington State it has come to feel more like home than the midwest where I grew up.  The funny thing, and perhaps the best thing, about living here is knowing that everybody "fits in" as it has the best of everything - water, mountains, rain forest, ocean.  I love it.

So, it is with mixed feelings that I sit here, on my last Saturday in Seattle.  I am packing and cleaning and thinking about my time here, grateful for the experience and mourning the end of my time.  Sometimes life throws things our way that alter our course and I know this is one of those times and all I can do is make the best of it.

In the end, everything will work out as it should and hopefully I will be able to return someday.

End of the Night

I am 10,000 words into End of the Night ~ Emerald Seer 3 and I am really proud of how it is shaping up.  I have done first edits on that portion and am starting on the next segment.  Some things I planned have changed a touch but I think it is for the best on all counts.  My first 10,000 words are off to two of my beta readers and I already received an email of excitement so I am taking that as a good sign as well.  Somewhere in the midst of all this I want to do another read through of Whiskey, Mystics and Men but I need to get End of the Night out while Storm and her friends are speaking to me!

While on the subject, somebody recently asked me about the titles for the Emerald Seer Series and I realized it may not be clear to everybody as I haven't really put it out there.  I was raised on classic rock - lived it, loved it, cherish it still (Thanks Dad!!) so I took song titles from one of my all time favorite bands - The Doors - and applied them to the appropriate content.  Of course, there are dozens of songs I adore but these titles fit best.

Almost, but not yet

Ryder on the Storm nearly cracked the top 100 in the paid genre - almost but not quite.  It was a wonderful feeling to see Ryder doing well and I have to admit I am thrilled with sales.  To see people enjoying Ryder enough to purchase Light My Fire and Whiskey, Mystics and Men as well is humbling.  I have to thank all who have entered Storm's world!

End of the Night is moving along and I hope you will all be pleased as I am!
