The unbelievable, fantastical, stunningly brilliant mind of Tammie Clarke Gibbs

Behind the Scenes with Author Tammie Clarke Gibbs & the Hero of her new Time Travel Romance, Sworn to Secrecy, Dak Bartholomew....

Tammie Clarke Gibbs is the author of the #1 Kindle Best Selling Gothic/Time Travel Romance Island of Secrets which has been consistently on three of the Amazon Best Seller Lists for over eighteen consecutive months. She is the author of three novels and multiple non-fiction titles. Tammie resides with her husband, son, and a very spoiled Maltese in South Georgia. She loves to hear from her fans and can be reached at her website and via email
Violet: Thank you Tammie for taking the time during this busy Book Launch Week to drop by and visit with us and I can't wait to hear a little more about Dak, your hunky hero.

Tammie: We really appreciate you giving us this opportunity. I think I just saw Dak blush. He really is very modest. :)

Dak: Me? Blush? Nonsense. I'm as hunky and manly as anyone. (winks at Violet)

Violet: Now, now... you'll make me blush. (fans)   So who wants to go first?

Dak: I'll go first. (smiles) What would you like to know?

Violet: Dak, tell us where you were born.

Dak: In South Carolina smack dab in the middle of Charleston. My parents own a plantation on the outskirts and of course they have their home in town as well.

Violet: It's a beautiful town now, I can just imagine how amazing it would look in the late 1800's.  Ok, next question. Do you have a best friend?  If so who is it?

Dak:  My best friend is Jeremy Loud. We grew up just a short distance from one another and our parents were friends. We are more like brothers than friends.

Violet: I remember Jeremy from Keeping Secrets. How is Magen? I understand they are expecting their first child. Is that right?

Dak: It is. Not sure exactly when it's due I've been a little busy.

Violet: I know your a US Secret Service agent, but if you weren't what would you be? Are there any fantasty jobs you'd like to have?

Dak: I can't imagine doing anything else. It is my fantasy job. (smiles)

Violet: I'd ask you about Elizabeth, but then that might spoil the book. Thanks Dak.

Dak: You're very welcome. It's been a real pleasure.

Violet: Tammie would it be ok if I ask you a few questions too?

Tammie: Of course.

Violet:  I've heard you say that you enjoy listening to music while you write. What kinds of music do you like?

Tammie: I listen to Pandora and have ear phones so I don't annoy my family.  I love nature instrumentals like waterfalls, pipe music and celtic.

Violet: Congratulations I understand that on your Book Launch Event day SWORN TO SECRECY made it onto two Amazon Bestseller lists were you surprised?

Tammie: Honestly yes and thrilled. This is the first of my novels that has made the best sellers list on it's event day. Both of my other novels have made it but it took months. My non-fiction 8 Hours to Jump Start your Career made it on it's event day, but that book is for other authors. I've had so many fantastic people helping me get the word out. It's been amazing.

Violet: Sworn to Secrecy is a Time Travel romance how does it differ from Island of Secrets your first novel?

Tammie:  Island of Secrets is a Gothic Time Travel Romance it's a bit darker and spans centuries.  Sworn to Secrecy takes characters from Keeping Secrets, my historical suspense and adds in an exciting time travel element that will be the foundation for the next few books in that series. I'm already plotting book three in the Undercover Heroes series.  The wonderful thing is that I believe my fans from Island of Secrets will really enjoy this book.

Violet: I know you're busy and have a lot of stops over the next few days. I wish you continued success with Sworn to Secrecy and want to thank you both for dropping in and chatting with me. I'm excited about the excerpt you've shared and the contest. I hope everyone will be sure to enter.

Tammie and Dak: Thank you Violet for having us.

Excerpt of Sworn to Secrecy Copyright Tammie Clarke Gibbs

Dak Bartholomew felt a trickle of blood run a cold wet trail down the side of his face from the open gash at his temple.
He struggled to open his eyes, and after several moments succeeded. Focusing on his surroundings took several more, but eventually, he could see the small, dank-smelling room in more clarity than he even desired.
The only light came from a single window, its pane’s blackened all but for one small section.
He pulled himself off the filthy mattress and felt his way toward the light. The window had been painted from the inside, and it appeared that someone had literally scratched at it until a small stream of light was allowed in from the outside. Instinctively, he reached into his pocket for his knife, but it wasn’t there. Nothing was there.
There was a faint cry from the corner of the room. Startled, Dak stepped back into the darkness.
He felt his way along the bed until he came to what he thought was a wall.
The darkness was deep and black, and the light cut only a sliver through it, leaving the rest of the room engulfed in an ebony sea.
He was weak from having been drugged or loss of blood. He wasn’t sure which. Either would have given him an excuse to forget he wasn’t alone and cower, but the pitiful whimpers stoked within him a steely determination.
“You there,” he called and waited for an answer.
The room was quiet in response. No whimpering. No breathing.
“Are you hurt?” Dak asked this time, and his voice was softer. Still there was no answer.
He took several short steps, feeling his way along the wall in the direction he’d heard the sounds coming from.
“I won’t hurt you,” he said, this time louder. “I…”
Dak felt a dirty hand on his mouth and something sharp at his side.
